As an avid artillerist, Michael wanted large display pieces in his home, but was discouraged by the impracticality of the high cost and heavy weight of iron barrels. His solution was the wooden gun barrels he started producing.
Now a collector can have a very nice replica at a fraction of the cost and weight of an iron barrel.
